Autovac. S. agalactiae

Use Prevention of mastitis produced by Streptococcus agalactiae in bovine cattle.

Samples required for preparation Send California test-positive milk samples (3 or 4 ml). Optionally send the isolated strain.

Composition Exopolysaccharides of Streptococcus agalactiae, lyophilized with liposomes. Adjuvant: Aluminum hydroxide.

Recommended protocol Vaccinate and revaccinate the females 50 and 20 days before calving. Apply a memory dose in each gestation. Vaccinate and revaccinate the replacement females 50 and 20 days before calving. Via the intramuscular route.

Observations Streptococcus agalactiae can be eradicated from an farm.

Presentation Boxes containing 25 doses. The autovaccine can be ordered in a single bottle containing 50 doses, or in 5 bottles containing 5 doses.

Resuspension of the lyophilized autovaccine

  • Before application, allow the preparation to reach room temperature. Dilute the lyophilized tablet with 2 ml of aluminum hydroxide, stir well and mix with the rest of adjuvant. Administer immediately after resuspension.
  • The autovaccine is marketed ready for use. Before administration, allow the product to reach room temperature.

Delivery dates Ten days after the ordering date (previously isolated strain).

Posology Dose per animal: 2 ml.

Shelf-life One year after manufacture.

Storage In a cool place protected from light. Do not freeze.

Use Prevention of metritis, abscesses, septicemias and purulent infections produced by Arcanobacterium pyogenes in bovine cattle.

Samples required for preparation Abscess swab, uterine swab, organs. Optionally send the isolated strains.

Composition Inactivated bacterial bodies of Arcanobacterium pyogenes. Adjuvant: Aluminum hydroxide.

Recommended protocol Vaccinate and revaccinate all the animals at any productive moment with an interval of 30 days. Via the subcutaneous route.

Observations Handling and hygiene, as well as primary infections must be improved before deciding to use the autovaccine.

Use Prevention of diarrheas produced by Escherichia coli in calves and prevention of clinical mastitis in bovine cattle.

Samples required for preparation Rectal swab of sick calf. Send California test-positive milk samples (3 or 4 ml). Optionally send the isolated strain.

Composition Inactivated bacterial bodies of Escherichia coli. Adjuvant: Aluminum hydroxide.

Recommended protocol Vaccinate and revaccinate the females 50 and 20 days before calving. Apply a memory dose in each gestation. Via the intramuscular route.

Observations In order to maintain the efficacy of these autovaccines, new strains should be isolated when diarrheas sporadically appear in some calves.

Recommended protocol Vaccinate and revaccinate the animals with an interval of 30 days, before the start of the warm period and the appearance of flies. Apply an annual memory dose. Via the intramuscular route.

Observations Moraxella is occasionally associated to other pathogens - fundamentally Mycoplasma.

Use Prevention of pneumonias or mastitis produced by Mycoplasma bovis in bovine cattle.

Samples required for preparation Lung of infected animal, nasal swab. Send California test-positive milk samples (3 or 4 ml). Optionally send the isolated strain.

Composition Exopolysaccharides of Mycoplasma bovis lyophilized with liposomes. Adjuvant: Aluminum hydroxide.

Recommended protocol Vaccinate and revaccinate the females 50 and 20 days before calving. Apply a memory dose before each lactation. Vaccinate and revaccinate the replacement calves 50 and 20 days before calving. If the problems appear in the feeding stage, vaccinate at the time of weaning and 21-30 days after (half a dose). Via the intramuscular route.

Observations In respiratory problems it is advisable to include in the autovaccine the possible strains of Pasteurella that have been isolated. In cases of mastitis it is advisable to check for the presence of Mycoplasma.

Use Prevention of pneumonias and septicemias produced by Mannheimia haemolytica (previously Pasteurella), Pasteurella trehalosi, or Pasteurella multocida and Mycoplasma bovis in bovine cattle.

Samples required for preparation Lung of infected animal, nasal swab. Optionally send the isolated strains.

Composition Exopolysaccharides of Pasteurella multocida, Pasteurella trehalosi or Mannheimia haemolytica and Mycoplasma bovis lyophilized with liposomes. Adjuvant: Aluminum hydroxide.

Recommended protocol Vaccinate and revaccinate all the adult animals at any productive moment with an interval of 30 days. Replacement animals are to be vaccinated after 30 and 60 days of life. In feeding stages vaccinate upon arrival of the animals and after 30 days. Via the intramuscular route.

Observations It is always necessary to consider the combined presence of other pathogens, especially viruses (BVD, IBR, BRSV, PI-3).

Recommended protocol Vaccinate and revaccinate all the adult animals at any productive moment with an interval of 30 days. Replacement animals are to be vaccinated after 30 and 60 days of life. In feeding stages vaccinate upon arrival of the animals and after 30 days. Via the intramuscular route.

Observations In the case of respiratory problems we recommend inclusion in the autovaccine of the strains of Mycoplasma that may have been isolated on the farm.

Recommended protocol Vaccinate and revaccinate all the animals with an interval of 30 days. If the calves are affected, vaccinate the females 50 and 20 days before calving. Apply a memory dose in each gestation. Via the intramuscular route.

Observations Especially indicated on dairy farms where Salmonella cannot be controlled with antibiotics.
