Autovac. S. agalactiae
Use Prevention of mastitis produced by Streptococcus agalactiae in sheep and goats.
Samples required for preparation Send California test-positive milk samples (3 or 4 ml). Optionally send the isolated strain.
Composition Exopolysaccharides of Streptococcus agalactiae, lyophilized with liposomes. Adjuvant: Aluminum hydroxide.
Recommended protocol Vaccinate and revaccinate the females 50 and 20 days before birthing. Apply a memory dose before each lactation. Vaccinate and revaccinate the replacement animals 50 and 20 days before birthing. Via the subcutaneous route.
Observations Streptococcus agalactiae is easily eliminated from sheep and goat farms. Before deciding vaccination prophylaxis, consult the laboratory about how to eradicate this pathogen.

Resuspension of the lyophilized autovaccine

Use Prevention of the metritis, abscesses, septicemias and purulent infections produced by Arcanobacterium pyogenes in sheep and goats.
Samples required for preparation Depending on the process involved, swab of the abscess wall, vaginal swab, affected organs or caseous mass. Optionally send the isolated strain.
Composition Inactivated bacterial bodies of Arcanobacterium pyogenes. Adjuvant: Aluminum hydroxide.
Recommended protocol Vaccinate and revaccinate all the animals at any productive moment with an interval of 30 days. Via the subcutaneous route.
Observations Handling and hygiene, as well as primary infections must be improved before deciding to use the autovaccine

Use Prevention of the abortive processes produced by Campylobacter fetus in sheep and goats.

Composition Inactivated bacterial bodies of Campylobacter fetus. Adjuvant: Aluminum hydroxide.
Recommended protocol Vaccinate and revaccinate the females with an interval of 30 days before mating, or in the first third of pregnancy. Provide a memory dose in each gestation. Via the subcutaneous route.
Observations The isolation of Campylobacter in the laboratory is difficult and requires the shipment of samples in perfect conditions.

Recommended protocol Vaccinate and revaccinate the females 50 and 20 days before birthing. Provide a memory dose in each gestation. In post-weaning diarrheas, vaccinate the young animals with half a dose after 15 and 30 days of life. Via the subcutaneous route.
Observations In sheep and goats the birthing area is discontinuous; as a result, the variability of strains in the different birthing zones is great, and autovaccines are not as effective as in other species.

Use Prevention of lymphadenitis and pseudotuberculosis produced by Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis in sheep and goats.

Composition Bacterial bodies of Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis. Adjuvant: Aluminum hydroxide.
Recommended protocol Vaccinate and revaccinate all the adult females with an interval of 30 days. Administer a memory dose annually. Vaccinate and revaccinate the replacement animals with an interval of 21-30 days so that the second dose is given 15 days before the appearance of the symptoms. Via the subcutaneous route.
Observations On one same farm it is possible to isolate Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis and Staphylococcus aureus anaerobius in different animals.

Observations It is necessary to establish a differential diagnosis with conjunctivitis due to Mycoplasma.

Composition Exopolysaccharides Mycoplasma ovipneumoniae or Mycoplasma arginini lyophilized with liposomes. Adjuvant: Aluminum hydroxide.
Recommended protocol Vaccinate and revaccinate all adult animals at any productive moment with an interval of 30 days. Replacement animals are to be vaccinated after 30 and 60 days of life. In feeding stages vaccinate at the time of weaning and 15-21 days after (half a dose). Via the subcutaneous route.
Observations We recommend the preparation of autovaccines against Mycoplasma ovipneumoniae or Mycoplasma arginini in combination with Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella trehalosi or Pasteurella multocida.

Observations Used in combination with drying treatments for the control of Mycoplasma, it is a highly effective autovaccine, and one of the most widely used autovaccines in sheep and goats. Since oily adjuvants are not employed, no secondary reactions occur.
